A two-motorcycle crash in Lincoln County last Friday evening at about 9 p.m. resulted in the death of two Richland County residents.

The victims of that accident are Robert J. Dobbs, age 67, and his wife Josephine M. Dobbs, age 68, both of Richland Center.

The driver of the other motorcycle was Mark N. Coolidge, age 59, of Baraboo and his passenger Roxanne M. Johnson, age 52, of Plover. At the time of this report from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, Coolidge is in fair condition and Johnson in good condition, both at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, preliminary indications are that an eastbound motorcycle operated by Robert Dobbs crossed the centerline and struck the westbound motorcycle being operated by Coolidge.

Chief Billy J. Jones would like to introduce Officer Nathan Coleman.  Nathan Coleman is the son of Tom and Brenda Coleman, of Richland Center.  Nathan graduated from the Richland Center High School in 2018. Throughout high school, Nathan was involved in many different sports and now he spends most of his free time hunting or fishing. Nathan hopes to get involved with youth sports as a coach whether that be in wrestling, basketball, or football.

Nathan recently graduated from the 720-hour Law Enforcement Academy at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore and is excited to be able to give back to his hometown by working for the Richland Center Police Department.

Nathan is currently in phase two of the Police Department’s 14-week field training program and can’t wait to be out on his own serving the community. Please help welcome Officer Coleman to the Police Department and to the City of Richland Center by waving or saying hi if you see him out and about.
