A 19-year-old Platteville man faces five charges after he was first approached for being parked next to a fire hydrant.

Victor Maurice Louis Buford faces charges of operating a vehicle without registration, parking or standing next to a fire hydrant, prohibited use of possession of alcohol, operating without a valid driver’s license, and operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance.

Buford was parked on Circle Drive Feb. 22 around 10 p.m., according to UW–Platteville police.
