DARLINGTON – The Darlington Community School District Board of Education offered a two-year superintendent contract to Cale Jackson, current superintendent of Loyal School District, at Monday night’s meeting on June 24.
After 11 applicants, the group was narrowed down to six candidates. Interviews were conducted and three candidates were chosen. On June 20, a community forum was held to interview the three candidates: Jeff Rykal, principal at Almond-Bancroft School District, Phillip Tubbs, principal at Amherst School District and Jackson.
Jackson is originally from Corpus Christi, Texas and majored in Business in Texas A&M and began working at Menards in Eau Claire for five years. He decided that wasn’t for him so he went back to college and got a degree in Math Education and taught in Sparta for five years then became an assistant principal in Tomah for five years. He has been the superintendent at Loyal School District for eight years.
