PLATTEVILLE — A full slate of activities is planned for Homecoming week at UW–Platteville this week.
This year’s theme is “Plattevillains: The Battle Within.”
A blood drive will be held in Ullsvik Hall today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., followed by “M”inute to Win It in the meeting rooms at the Markee Pioneer Student Center from 6 to 10 p.m.
An obstacle course will be set up in Memorial Park Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.
The Yell Contest will be held at the women’s volleyball game against Viterbo on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. The event will also provide the setting for the unveiling of the university’s new mascot.
House decorations throughout campus will be available for viewing Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
The Homecoming parade on Main Street will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Floats will be judged between 8 and 9 a.m.
The nationally ranked Pioneer football team will take to the field at 3 p.m. on to face off against UW–River Falls.
Homecoming activities will be capped off with the lighting of the “M” at 9 p.m. on Saturday. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the completion of the “M” (see story, page 1B).
