Icy roads lead to rollover for Westby teen

A rural Westby teenager was injured March 24 in a one-vehicle rollover caused by icy conditions.

According to a press release from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, Elizabeth Hauser, 17,  was driving eastbound on Hwys. 14/61/27, just south of East Smith Road in Viroqua township,  when she lost control of her vehicle at approximately 8:15 p.m.

Hauser’s vehicle crossed the median and rolled over, coming to rest in the westbound lane.

She was transported by Tri-State Ambulance to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua with unspecified injuries.

Hauser was wearing a seat belt. Assisting at the scene were the Westby First Responders.
