Crawford County election results February 18, 2025

CRAWFORD COUNTY - Results in Crawford County’s nonpartisan primary election on Tuesday, Feb. 18, mirrored statewide results in the State Superintendent of Public Instruction race. In the North Crawford School Board primary, like the statewide race, strong support went to the incumbents.

Incumbent State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jill Underly garnered the most votes statewide, and in Crawford County. Statewide, according to preliminary results released by The New York Times as of 11:18 a.m. on Wednesday, Underly took 38% of the vote. Brittany Kinser, who will face Underly in the April 1 election, took 34.6% of the vote. The third candidate, eliminated in the primary, Jeff Wright, took 27.4% of the vote.

Underly is the projected winner in Grant, Vernon and LaCrosse counties, with Wright winning in Richland, Sauk, Juneau, Columbia and Iowa counties. Kinser took counties on the eastern side of the state, and many of the northern part of the state.

In Crawford County, Underly received 534 votes, Kinser 425, and Wright 408.

In the North Crawford School Board primary, the field of five candidates was whittled down to four for the April 1 election. Surviving the primary were incumbents Jerry Coleman and Charissa Richter, and challengers Jesse Swenson and Melany Jelinek. Challenger Tyler Olson’s candidacy was eliminated through primary voting.

Coleman took 299 votes, Richter 250, Jelinek 137, and Swenson 133. Olson received 85 votes.
