New Muscoda river resuce boat takes trial run
There was “something new” on the Wisconsin River in the Muscoda area Sunday morning. The new Fire District “Rescue Boat” was launched from the Riverside Park Boat Landing and then traveled both directions, through low flow water levels.

MUSCODA - The new Muscoda Joint Fire District rescue boat was tested Sunday morning with a run that took it upstream and downstream from the Riverside Park boat launch, through both deep and shallow water. After the run the craft was described as ready to put into service after a few adjustments are made. It will be based in the Muscoda Fire Station.

Donations are being sought to help pay for the approximately 3,300 pound craft. A earlier story in this newspaper noted that checks can be mailed made to Friends of the Lower Wisconsin Riverway (FLOW) with the Memo “Rescue Boat”, and mailed to FLOW, P.O. Box 614, Spring Green, WI 53588 or by going to FLOW’s website and clicking on the donation page. Let them know the donation is for the “Rescue Boat”.
