A new director has been hired by Rural Medical Ambulance service in Darlington and will be starting the job on Jan. 3, 2014.
Linda Pittz, of Dodgeville has been chosen to fill the part-time position and will be physically in Darlington on the job for a minimum of two days a week.
Pittz said she will be looking at what takes place within the organization and that a formal needs assessment will begin right away to identify what changes need to be made to make a better service.
Pittz also hopes to reach out to the public to get an idea of what the public’s view of Rural Medical is.
Pittz has been an emergency medical technician for almost 30 years and has a background in community health education. In the past she has served on the Belmont Ambulance service, Belmont rescue squad and the Iowa County rescue squad, which became the Dodgeville Area ambulance service.
“I’m looking forward to it,” said Pittz of starting her new job. Pittz is originally from the Darlington area.
A total of three applications were received for this position and two of those were interviewed.
