Bernard J. “Butch” Scanlan, 79, of Fennimore, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, due to complications of COVID-19.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore with burial to follow at the church cemetery with military honors. A private family luncheon will be served in the church hall. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall in Fennimore and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. Due to the current COVID pandemic, we are asking all attendees to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. Because of Bernard’s love of Wisconsin sports, the family encourages you to wear your Packer, Badger, Brewer or Bucks apparel when attending services.
