Bettie Jeanne Altorfer, age 89, of Tomahawk and Englewood, Fla., passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at her residence in Tomahawk.Bettie was born July 23, 1924 in Darlington, the daughter of Charles Webb and Beulah Bird (Brinigar) Penniston. 

A Memorial Service for Bettie Altorfer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Tomahawk.  Pastor Debra Hastings will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m.  Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
