David A. Quamme, age 72 of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Mayo Health Systems in LaCrosse, WI.  He was born on April 18, 1951, in Prairie du Chien, the son of Sherman and Eunice (Warren) Quamme.

David graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1969.  David married Pam Krieg on June 21, 1975, and later divorced.  To this union his daughter Amber was born.  On July 13, 1990, David married Cary Wenzel.  At this time, Amber was introduced to Cary and was not fond of this relationship until she realized Cary wasn’t afraid of fishing worms.  Then all was well. 

David loved the outdoors whether it was cutting wood, watching the birds, or fishing with his ever so talkative grandchildren.  David worked a short time at the 3M Company until he went into construction for the next 42 years. 

David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cary, his daughter, Amber (Brian) Kuhnke, sister-in-law Sharon Quamme, grandchildren: Brenden, Preston, and Alexis, and 3 nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Laverne and Jerry Quamme.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Miranda Klosterboer officiating, burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien.  Friends may call the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
