Donald P. “Donny” Monson age 70 of Darlington, formerly of Wiota, passed away unexpectedly  Friday, May 8, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. He was born Feb. 21, 1945 in Monroe, the son of Paul and Bernice (Vinger) Monson.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Wiota Lutheran Church (6682 State Highway 78 in rural South Wayne) with Rev. Luke S. Smetters officiating. Burial was in West Wiota Lutheran Cemetery where Military Graveside Rites were accorded by the Bates-O’Brien-Howe-Wiegel-Roelli American Legion Post #214 of Darlington. A visitation was held Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington) and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Thursday.
