Ethel G. Kroll, age 94 years, of rural Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital, in Viroqua, Wisconsin, the same day as a new great grandson, Wyatt was born.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1920 to George and Sylvia (Nelson) La Belle in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Ethel was united in marriage to Byron Kroll on May 21, 1955 in Hudson, Wisconsin.
They lived in Muskego, Wisconsin for many years and following retirement lived in Arizona for 22 years, moving back to Hillsboro in 2003. Byron preceded her in death on March 4, 2005.
In addition to her work as a housewife, Ethel also worked as a sales clerk at a dress shop and while in Arizona was a mail clerk for a residential trailer park. She also enjoyed her flowers and being with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Wineland of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Julie (Tim) Hotek, Tony (Susan) Vesbach, Randy (Amy) Vesbach, Christopher Vesbach (Amy Blaha), Shelly (Wade) Gilman, Karen (Charlie) Curley and Laura Mann and many great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Byron, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda (Tom) Vesbach; three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church – 214 S. Cherry St., La Farge, WI, with Pastor Mark Phillips officiating. Burial was in the Bear Creek Cemetery near La Farge. Friends called at the Church on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro assisted the family.
