Gerald “Jerry” J. Lolwing, 79, of Platteville, died Tuesday, Sept. 3 surrounded by his loved ones at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, after a prolonged battle with myasthenia gravis.

A Mass of Christen Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Platteville. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post #42 and VFW Post #5274. Visitation will be held from 4–7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville with a Parish Rosary at 3:45 p.m.  Additional visitation will be from 9:30–10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary’s church with a Parish Rosary at 10:40 a.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.melbyfh.com.
