Gerald “Jerry” LaBorde, age 79 of Darlington, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 at the Lafayette County Manor in Darlington. He was born in Cedarville, Ill., on Aug. 15, 1938 the son of John and Eileen (Clark) LaBorde. Jerry attended school in Juda. He worked on the home farm until he married Patsy Weckerly on Sept. 11, 1965 and together they had two children. They traveled around southwest Wisconsin working until 1974 where he and his family settled down and started his own business “Jerry’s Dairy Supply”.  In 2008 Jerry moved to the city of Darlington to enjoy his retirement.
Jerry is survived by his two children: Peggy (Mike) Garwell of Gratiot and Mickey (Allison) LaBorde of Argyle; two grandsons: Dustin Garwell of Waupaca and Curtis Garwell of Gratiot; one great-grandson: Carter Garwell of Waupaca; one sister: Jane (Dennis) Swiggum of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister: Judith Witt.
Jerry attended First Baptist Church in Darlington. He enjoyed going to senior dances at least three times a week and was a regular at the Turner Twist and Swing.  Jerry cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and the time they spent together more than anything else in the world. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
A visitation for Jerry will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle, Wis., (801 East Milwaukee Street, Argyle).  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
