Margaret E. Halverson, 87, of Waukon, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 12th, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Waukon. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon with Pastor Bryan Robertson officiating. Burial occurred at Mt. Sterling Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Wisconsin.

Margaret Elaine Halverson was born July 1, 1932, on the family farm in rural Gays Mills, Wisconsin, the youngest daughter of Martin and Elsie (Helgeson) Iverson. She was baptized July 31, 1932, confirmed May 19, 1946, at Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church and graduated from Gays Mills High School in 1950. On April 8, 1952, she married Harold Paul Halverson at Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church, which was also Harold's 20th birthday. Harold was a cheesemaker so they moved around to several different towns including German Valley, Illinois, and Wadena, Iowa before settling in Waukon, Iowa, in 1976. Margaret was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
