Margaret C. Halvorson, 85, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, July 9, 2017, at the Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue, Iowa.
A private family gathering will be held in her honor at a later date.  A natural journey farewell with cremation has taken place.  The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
Margaret was born on June 11, 1932 in Dodgeville to William J. and Anna L. Rielly.  She married Harley McGranahan and they had seven children.  She was later married to Ed Halvorson.
Margaret owned and operated Easy Ed’s and enjoyed cooking for many years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Bob McGranahan of Darlington, Anne (Joe) Veach of Spragueville, Iowa, Jerry (Peg) McGranahan of DeWitt, Iowa, Deanna (Jim) Lux of Peosta, Iowa, Lisa (Keith) Clausen of Preston, Iowa, Patty (Ben) Keating of Maquoketa, Iowa, and Mike (Marlene) McGranahan of Maquoketa, Iowa; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen of Oxnard, Calif., and Patty of Syracuse, N.Y.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers Ed, Larry, Bill and Mike Rielly, and one granddaughter Sue Ellen Veach.
