Maynard Teach passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 9. Maynard was born on August 29, 1935, to the late Ellery and Grace (Cook) Teach who were both managers and later owners of Sunrise Orchards. Maynard grew up active in Boy Scout Troop 80 and after graduation from Gays Mills High School married Janet Lee, also of Gays Mills, on November 19, 1955.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gays Mills Fire Department, North Crawford Scholarship Fund, or Friends of Mississippi River Pool 9 in Maynard's memory.

A Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Luther Memorial Church in Gays Mills. Pastor Carrie Anderson officiated. A visitation was held at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Maynard was laid to rest at the Gays Mills Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Sunrise Orchards near Gays Mills.
