Michael “Mike” Joseph Smith, 88, of Castle Rock, Wisconsin, died in Lancaster on Oct. 18, 2023, of complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

His ashes were scattered in a private ceremony on Oct. 12, 2024. Memorials may be made to the Public Library Expansion Project for the Dwight T. Parker Public Library of Fennimore, Wisconsin, one of his favorite refuges.
