Paul L. Shockley, 87, of Rockton, Ill. died at 2:44 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 in Beloit Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. Paul was born Oct. 30, 1925 in Darlington, to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil and Lula (Gilbank) Shockley and had lived in Rockton since 1950.

Funeral ceremonies were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, Ill. with Pastor Tom Kingergy of Rockton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery, Darlington. Visitation was held in the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
