Roberta J. “Bobbi” Lawonn, 70, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Spooner Health, in Spooner.
She was born to Raymond and Wilma (Sowls) Hollinger in Dodgeville on Sept. 10, 1947.
Bobbi grew up on a family farm in Darlington and graduated from Darlington High School. In 1970, she earned a bachelor’s degree in home economics education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where she later continued her education to earn a master’s degree in vocational education in 1989.
On May 20, 1972, she was united in marriage to Richard Lawonn in Fond du Lac.
Bobbi worked in Spooner as a family living agent for the University of Wisconsin-Extension and Washburn County from 1989 until she retired in 2004. Previously, she was a home economics teacher in Fond du Lac and Greenfield. She also served on the North Fond du Lac school board.
She lived in several places in Wisconsin throughout her life; most recently in Trego for the past 27 years.
Bobbi enjoyed cooking, knitting, birdwatching, reading, and cheering for the Badgers, Brewers, and Packers. She was active in Washburn County Homemakers and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Spooner.
Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, sister Shirley, and brother Arthur.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Trego; her son, Matthew, of Tillimook, Oregon; her daughter, Wendy (Steve) Miller, of Waunakee; sisters Arlene (Gene) Olson, of Kenosha, Marilyn Whalen of Darlington, and Kay (Geary) Searfoss of Ojibwa; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spooner Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared with Bobbi’s family at bratley-nelsonchapels.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.

John Baures, 63, of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, at his home. He was born on October 4, 1961, to the late James and Delores (Kaiser) Baures in the Gays Mills area. John attended North Crawford High School and afterwards, he went straight into the work force, working for Cleary Building in construction and BAPI as a factory worker.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. John will be laid to rest at the Gays Mills Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
