Rodney “Rod” L. Thomas, 69, of Platteville, died on Saturday, Sept. 10 peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.

Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation was from 4–7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville, where there was a scripture wake service at 3:45 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
