NORTH CRAWFORD - The North Crawford Varsity Volleyball Invitational held last Saturday featured some spirited play for the Trojans and their seven guests.

In pool play:

North Crawford beat Viroqua 25-17, 25-19

TROJAN HITTER Hallie Toedter (11) smashes one past this Belmont defender in the second set of a tough match during the North Crawford Invitational. Although Toedter and her teammates tied the match by winning this second set, it slipped away in the third, which they wound up tossing 15-13.

Belmont beat North Crawford 25-22, 22-25, 15-13

Highland beat Viroqua 25-13, 25-7

Highland beat North Crawford 25-20, 22-25, 15-10

Wauzeka-Steuben beat Kickapoo 25-21, 14-25 15-8

Wonewoc-Center beat Fennimore 25-23, 22-25 and 15-8

Wonewoc-Center beat Kickapoo 25-27, 25-19 and 16-14

Wauzeka-Steuben beat Fennimore 20-25, 25-18 and 15-5

Fennimore beat Kickapoo 25-15, 25-21

Wauzeka-Steuben beat Wonewoc-Center 25-23 and 28-26

In bracket play, the top two teams in each pool competed.

First place in each pool played the second place team in the opposite pool, and the winners played for first place and the defeated teams played for third.

Highland beat Wonewoc-Center 25-19, 17-25, 15-12

Wauzeka-Steuben beat Belmont 25-13, 24-26, 15-9

So Highland and Wauzeka-Steuben played for first place and Highland finishing on top, 25-20, 25-22

Wonewoc-Center and Belmont played for third place, Wonewoc-Center took third 25-20, 25-14
