The Hillsboro baseball team has taken a literal sit and wait approach to this year’s season.
Poor weather again forced a pair of postponements in the past week and the Tigers have not played since 5–3 loss at Necedah on April 21. And that game was played after an 11-day layoff due to weather issues.
The Tigers are in the midst of another lengthy layoff that will be a minimum of 10 days if they are able to play at Wonewoc–Center today.
Hillsboro is also scheduled to play in the La Farge Tournament on Saturday before traveling to Brookwood on Monday.
Last Thursday’s Scenic Bluffs Conference game at Cashton was washed away by rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on May 19.
Monday’s doubleheader against Royall was also postponed and will be made up on May 22.
The Tigers are 1–2 overall and 1–2 in the Scenic Bluffs this year. Five of their eight scheduled games thus far this season have been rained out.
Hillsboro has 15 games remaining, scheduled over the first 23 days of May.
