Lancaster senior Brianna Kirsch has a nine-hole conference average of 37.0 heading into the championship meet next Tuesday in Darlington, where she will likely secure league MVP honors.

LANCASTER – Brianna Kirsch is putting together a dominating senior season, and in doing so is leading the Lancaster girls golf team to the top of the Southwest Wisconsin Conference standings.

With first-place finishes in the first five conference meets, the defending conference champs from Lancaster have a secure hold on the top spot in the Southwest Wisconsin Conference standings again this season.

Coach Brooke Marcue’s squad has 25 conference team points heading into next Tuesday’s 18-hole conference championship held at the Darlington Golf and Country Club. The Arrows are six points ahead of the second-place team from Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton and 11 points ahead of the third-place team from Darlington.

With next week’s conference finale consisting of 18 holes, all points will count double toward team and individual scores used to determine the team champion and individual all-conference honors.

The Flying Arrows most recently competed at Cole Acres in Cuba City, where they finished first with a team score of 182 this past Monday night.

Kirsch won medalist honors with an even-par round of 37, followed by Lynell Miller (46), Evy Dhyanchand (47), Kate McWilliams (52) and Margot Dhyanchand (57).

On their home course last Thursday night, the Arrows again took top honors, this time shooting a team score of 166 on the back nine.

Kirsch again took medalist honors with an impressive round of 35, followed by Miller (37), Evy Dhyanchand (46), McWilliams (48) and Margot Dhyanchand (58).

Throughout the season, Kirsch has earned medalist honors in eight of her team’s 10 meets so far this season, including the first five of her team’s six conference meets.

She enters next week’s conference finale with a league-best nine-hole average of 37.0, followed by teammate Lynell Miller in second place at 45.8. Evy Dhyanchand has a nine-hole conference average of 46.8, while McWilliams is at 51.8, and Margot Dhyanchand at 60.0.
