PLATTEVILLE — One year ago, Prairie du Chien won the Southwest Wisconsin Conference title over Platteville, but the Hillmen landed the last punch, handing the Blackhawks their only two losses of the season, including a season-ending defeat in the WIAA Division 3 sectional semifinals.

The two teams, with mostly the same rosters from a year ago, met for the first time since last year’s sectional contest Thursday night.

The visiting Blackhawks held the high-scoring Hillmen to a season-low offensive output, but Platteville’s defense led the way in a key 44–36 victory on its home court.

The #1-ranked Hillmen improved to 13–0 on the season and 4–0 in the Southwest Wisconsin Conference, while the Blackhawks (ranked eighth in Division 3), fell to 9–3, 3–1.
