Platteville senior Dusty Jentz is definitely back to full strength.
     After missing two weeks with a sprained knee Jentz returned to the mat in grand style last week winning the 170-pound championship last Friday at the 54-team, 30th Annual Bi-State Classic.
     Jentz went 6-0 in the two-day tournament with three pins, and three decisions, including a narrow 4-3 victory over Wausau West’s Dylan Detert (18-4) in the title bout.
     “I think he showed a lot of maturity the way he wrestled throughout the two day tournament.  He was very much under control in all his matches and that’s a good sign this time of the year,” said Belmont/Platteville head coach Dane Droessler.
     Belmont senior David Stoney (15-5) was the only other Platteville/Belmont wrestler to place in the tournament, going 4-3 to finishing 10th at 220 pounds.
     Belmont/Platteville finished 13th out of 15 teams in Division 2 with 91 teams points, 46 of which were scored by Jentz. Ellsworth on the D2 team title with 279.5 points.
     “I think this tournament sums up our season thus far, in that we are doing a lot of things right but we have to start stepping it up and coming away with victories,” added Droessler. “We need guys to take charge and finish matches, instead of just being satisfied. It is frustrating to be in so many matches but still not getting over the hump.
     “We need to get over the hump and get some of our young guys to take it to the next level.  As a team we are still shooting ourselves in the foot with the amount of points we are giving away from pins.”
